How we create handcrafted luxury gilded jewelry boxes

Luxury gilded figurative jewelry boxes were among our first original luxury works, which is why we did not always archive photos of their creation process. Despite the few photos available, we wanted to showcase our work on modern jewelry boxes, emphasizing that they are made exclusively by hand and only in our atelier, that they have a European style and design, and embody our unique character – our DNA.

Here you can see in all its glory the luxury box with Arabian horse head figures or luxurious gold-plated jewelry box with polar bear figurine authored Kostylo atelier.

These types of luxury jewelry boxes are made from dimensioned and cut 3 mm thick brass sheets soldered with silver. We never use thin sheets; we prefer massive and solid constructions created according to the goldsmith’s art.

Each luxury and unique gilded jewelry box features a sculpture or figurine designed by our Kostylo Atelier to enhance the aesthetic experience of its beauty. Such a figurine is hand-sculpted, cast in our workshop, hand-polished, and refined. Finally, it is gilded with 23-carat bright Italian gold.

The interior of each jewelry box is also hand-grinded and lined with luxurious natural quilted leather with golden accents. The soft, high-quality natural leather is specially selected and well-preserved to maintain its shine and beauty for many years.

Each unique and original jewelry box is hand-polished with files and meticulously smoothed to perfection with sandpaper.

Before gilding, the box is copper-plated, then polished to a very high gloss, and ultimately gilded with bright Italian gold.
