How we create the hand-gilded logo, the secrets of creative work inspired by the love for Coco Chanel
The Coco Chanel logo has long been and continues to be an inspiration for us. One of them is precisely the Coco Chanel logo itself, handcrafted by us from brass and then gilded with 23-karat gold.
First, we created a model of the logo, which we cast in bras in our Kostylo atelier. The resulting raw casting was then manually processed and refined, meticulously grinding it to achieve the envisioned appearance.
After meticulous grinding and refining, followed by manual sanding using various grits of sandpaper, ranging from 180 to 800, we proceeded with copper-plating to ensure a perfectly smooth surface without a single microhole.
After sanding the logo once more with sandpaper up to 800-grit, we polished the Coco logo to a gloss, preparing it for the gilding process.

We placed these wavy Coco Chanel logos, crafted from brass and gilded with 23-karat Italian gold, specifically on a dress strap. The backdrop features a very rare semi-precious stone called striped flint, known also as the stone of optimism.
