Pair of brass living-room lamps with green marble bases
Hand-cast brass, manual chiseling, patinated finish, full atelier execution
This pair of lamps was developed as an original Kostylo Atelier project, executed from the initial sketch to the final finished objects. Each lamp was cast in brass within the atelier and refined through successive stages of manual chiseling, filing and surface correction. The brass was then patinated to achieve a controlled tone resembling aged bronze, allowing the form to read as a unified sculptural object rather than a decorative accessory.
The bases were carved from selected green marble, chosen for its structure, veining and ability to introduce a geological counterpoint to the vertical brass elements. The stone was cut and finished to maintain clarity of proportion and stability within the overall composition.
Each lamp stands 70 cm tall, including a 40 cm shade designed to diffuse light with a soft, even glow. The shades were produced specifically for this commission, with proportions adjusted to maintain balance between the stone base, the brass body and the overall silhouette.
The lamps were conceived as functional lighting objects with sculptural presence, suitable for living rooms, bedrooms or representative interiors. Their scale and material discipline allow them to integrate naturally into both classical and contemporary spaces.
The entire project – from concept and modelling to casting, hand-finishing and final assembly – was completed in a single atelier, ensuring continuity of craftsmanship and material identity.
