Figural Brass Chandelier with Deer Heads
Hand-crafted brass piece patinated to antique bronze
This figural chandelier was entirely designed and crafted in the Kostylo Atelier as a unique collector’s artefact. Three sculptural deer heads, cast in solid brass and hand‑patinated to an antique bronze tone, form a composition with a distinctly sculptural presence. Each head holds a drop-shaped glass shade, merging symbolism, nature and traditional metal artistry.
At the centre hangs a large embossed brass plafon, suspended from a hand-soldered circular ring from which the three deer heads emerge. A fourth light source glows from within the central plafon, completing the luminous architecture of the piece.
The chandelier is suspended on hand-cut and hand-polished brass chains, attached to an adjustable ceiling canopy. Its surface is finished with a carefully controlled patina in the tone of aged bronze, with selectively polished reliefs that reveal the underlying metal and emphasise the sculptural modelling.
This work represents traditional metal craftsmanship: hand forming, soldering, chasing and patination. It is a ceiling sculpture that not only illuminates a space but defines it – through presence, character and monumental form.
Entirely handmade in the Kostylo Atelier.
