Openwork Brass Corporate Plaque
A hand-cast openwork composition in polished solid brass
This commission was created as a sculptural interpretation of the Kołdras company identity. The composition was cast in solid brass and refined entirely by hand in the Kostylo Atelier, with the openwork structure developed to preserve the clarity of the emblem while introducing depth, rhythm and controlled negative space.
After casting, each surface was shaped, corrected and polished through successive stages of manual finishing. The reflective brass emphasizes the geometry of the lettering and heraldic elements, allowing light to move across the surface and reveal the structure of the composition.
The plaque was conceived not as a decorative plate, but as an architectural identity in metal. Lettering, heraldic motifs and open space are brought together within a single sculptural form, giving the corporate emblem a physical and material presence.
The entire work, from modelling and casting to grinding, polishing and final refinement, was carried out within Kostylo Atelier as a single, continuous atelier process.
The result is not merely a company plaque. It is an openwork relief in which identity, material and craftsmanship become part of a single sculptural language.
