Large brass chandelier with four wall lamps
Hand-formed brass construction, manual polishing, custom shades, full atelier execution
The chandelier was conceived as a large-scale brass structure executed entirely in the Kostylo Atelier. Measuring 200 cm by 80 cm, the form was developed through successive stages of manual shaping, filing and refinement. The brass surfaces were sanded through multiple grades and polished by hand to achieve a uniform reflective plane. The intention was to create a lighting object functioning as an architectural element rather than a decorative fixture.
The project was completed as an individual commission, including the design and fabrication of custom lampshades. Their proportions and geometry were resolved to maintain balance within the overall structure, allowing the chandelier to operate effectively in both classical and contemporary interiors. Its scale gives it a strong spatial presence suitable for entrance halls, open living areas or representative rooms.
In the same workshop discipline, four large brass wall lamps were created to accompany the chandelier. Their form, finish and proportions were developed to maintain continuity with the main structure. Installed in an elegant interior of a historic townhouse, the lamps establish a coherent visual rhythm and integrate naturally with the architectural character of the space.
The chandelier can be produced in various finishes: high‑polish brass, patinated brass with an antique bronze tone, 23-carat gold leaf gilding or silver plating. These options allow the piece to adapt to different architectural contexts while preserving its structural clarity.
The entire project – from concept and modelling to manual finishing and final on-site installation – was carried out in a single atelier. The work stands as a study in scale, material discipline and the integration of handcrafted metalwork with architectural lighting.
